How do I book my tickets?
Here online on this site. Click register on the above menu and fill out the form. If you have ever registered sometime in the past, then try logging in; click on the login button above. If you don't remember your password - there's help there for that too.
Do you have to be single to come?
YES! That's why it's a singles ball! Of course being such a fun night, everybody wants to come... but as it's specifically a singles event, tickets are not available for those who are married or in a committed relationship, sorry! In the unlikely event that ticket sales do not make break-even point, we may consider opening ticket sales to non-singles.
Just how "Christian" do you have to be?
The aim of the evening is to bring like-minded singles together. We ask that you only register if you consider yourself a Christian. By claiming you are a "Christian", we assume that you have made a personal commitment of some kind to the Christian faith, and that you believe you have salvation through your faith in Jesus Christ. We respect that people are at different stages of their Christian walk.
Will there be alcohol?
Yes, there will be limited drinks provided with dinner, and an open bar where you can purchase further drinks as you desire during the evening. We ask that you respectfully refrain from over-indulging during the event.
How much does it cost?
The first 50 tickets will be available at $75, after that the price will rise to $85. This includes access to the ball at a fantastic venue, entertainment from Jonny and the Dreamboats (Wellington) or Allegro (Auckland), a buffet dinner and dessert, dancing and much more....
What should I wear?
The theme for the night is "United Nations"... so come feeling patriotic to whichever country you may choose that night... think beautiful colours, flowing material, national dresses from around the world, amazing places you've visited, glamorous, exotic, respresenting your heritage perhaps, anything along this theme. Have a bash at something a bit different! Of course we encourage all to come dressed to theme. If the theme is too much for you, don't worry, a nice suit or traditional ball dress is perfectly fine, just choose an European country to represent for the evening!
Where do I park?
If you are driving, we have limited parking onsite. Parking is $5 per vehicle. This includes carpark security on the night. Wellington delegates must pre-purchase their tickets, Auckland delegates pay for your parking in the carpark underneath the Owen Glenn Business School building on the night.
Who should I go with?
When you register, you are able to name a friend that you'd like to be seated with, so the choice is yours! You will be seated for the meal at a table of at least 8, so you don't have to worry about meeting people on the night!
What happens if I'm on the waiting list?
Because we want an even ratio of girls to guys, we have been forced to put girls on a waiting list until the numbers of guys and girls equalise. When a girl is added to the waiting list, she is given a "promo code". If you can convince 2 guys to register, and they enter your promo code on registration, you are guaranteed a ticket. Once numbers even out, girls on the waiting list will be offered places according to their order of registration.
How can I pay?
Once you complete the registration process to book your ticket, you are presented with 3 options. You can pay via direct credit (internet transfer), by posting a cheque or with a credit card via Paypal. Using Paypal incurs an extra 4% fee.
Can I on-sell my ticket if I find out I can't make it?
Yes you can. Please read our terms and conditions carefully if you decide to do this. You need to notify us immediately if you do on-sell your ticket. Guys cannot on-sell to girls, but girls can on-sell to guys.
What if I start seeing someone after I've bought a ticket?
Ah!! Well this is a good one to talk to your new partner about! Our best advice is to wait til AFTER the ball to start your new relationship :o) But seriously... this is a singles event, so if you've entered a committed relationship, you may want to consider on-selling your ticket, sorry.
Will it just be a whole bunch of desperate singles on the night?
No no no!! The night is all about having fun, and although we can't obviously "screen" every person that buys a ticket, this will not be a desperate-singles-assembly of any form or fashion! It's simply about single Christians getting together for a good time. If you happen to find your knight in shining armour or your damsel in distress, well then good on you (and we'd love to hear about it!) but that is not the exclusive aim of the evening.
Is this an offical United Nations event?
No - the United Nations is just a theme. The UN is more concerned with world peace and human rights than Christian singles.
Fast 'n' Curious? What's that all about?
Fast 'n' Curious is a separate speed-dating event run by some of our friends with the same vision. Since they didn't have awesome online system like we do, we offered to take over that part of the management for them, as they would have to do everything by hand otherwise!
